Medway Council papers for the 3 September 2026 Health and Wellbeing Board state that the Local Area SEND Reform Plan has been approved jointly by Medway Council, NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board and the wider Local Area Partnership. Targets to reduce EHC assessment requests, complaints or tribunal activity do not change the statutory test for an individual EHC needs assessment or remove existing SEN Support, reasonable-adjustment, EHCP or appeal rights. Ask what support is actually operating in your locality and how your child can access it.

Medway Council has advertised a free SEND Team drop-in at Parkwood Youth Centre, Parkwood Green Shopping Centre, Gillingham ME8 9PN, from 12 noon to 6pm, with no booking required. Check the official event details before travelling.
