Accessibility
The service should not require you to overcome another barrier just to ask for help.
We aim for clear language, predictable structure and flexible communication — including for parents who find long documents, telephone calls, uncertainty or executive-function demands difficult.
Website design
This site is being built towards WCAG 2.2 AA as a practical accessibility target. Current features include keyboard-visible focus, a skip link, semantic headings, responsive layouts, reduced-motion support, clear link wording and printable resources.
Communication adjustments
- Plain-English explanations.
- Written/email communication where reasonably possible.
- Clear next-step summaries.
- Avoiding repeated requests for information already provided where the case record can answer it.
- Recording communication preferences once a case is opened.
- Considering alternative formats or communication methods where reasonably possible.
Known limitations
The website is still developing. We have not yet completed a formal independent accessibility audit across every browser, screen reader and assistive technology.
Tell us about a barrier
If something on the website or in our communication creates an access problem, email hello@inyourcorner.org.uk and tell us what would make it easier.
