Safeguarding
Advocacy is not an emergency safeguarding service.
If a child or anybody else is in immediate danger, use the appropriate emergency or statutory safeguarding route rather than waiting for an In Your Corner response.
Immediate danger: call 999.
For non-emergency child safeguarding concerns, Kent County Council and Medway Council both provide official reporting routes linked below.
Our safeguarding position
- In Your Corner does not replace Children's Social Care, the police, NHS emergency care or any statutory safeguarding service.
- Information shared with us is not absolutely confidential where there is a lawful and necessary safeguarding reason to share it.
- Safeguarding concerns should be recorded factually, with the source of information and action taken.
- A person should not investigate or finally determine a safeguarding allegation about themselves.
Policy development:
The project's detailed safeguarding governance is being finalised as part of the move from founder-led project to a more formally governed service. This page states the current public boundary; it does not pretend an independent trustee safeguarding structure already exists.
